More than a fashion label – a platform for dialogue and inclusion

made IN – made BY (MIMB) is a Social Business that conducts clothing manufacture and offers fair working conditions to female immigrants living in the city of Vienna, and facing disadvantages or difficulties in meeting the requirements of the labour market. Through an empowerment approach, MIMB aims at encouraging women to find productive self-realisation in a protected environment.

MIMB will stablish business partnerships with designers and entrepreneurs in general, aiming to base at least part of their production chain in Europe. Moreover, MIMB has the purpose of creating its own fashion label making use of organic resources in order to create economic, environmental and social sustainability. Under the motto Diversity is our normality, the know-how and the background of the group will be incorporated into the design of its products.

made BY – sweatshop free. Workers are able to take part in the creative process of designing clothes, and to sign their own pieces.

In order to optimise the team work, sewing and design workshops will be provided during the establishment of this Social Business. Furthermore, women will be encouraged to build a carrier either by taking part in the workshops or by engaging themselves in other activities as project management, marketing, conception and conduction of workshops, and so on.

MIMB is meant to trigger joint considerations on strategy, conception, design and implementation processes of future and innovative ideas.
