made IN – made BY is producing a serie of scarves for the austrian fashion label MILCH! MILCH represents an ethically conscious and sustainable fashion. Both the environmental and social aspects are taken into account in the whole production chain. Not only are natural fabrics from up-cycled clothing used, but all MILCH garments are hand sewn under fair working conditions. The brazilian artist Fábio Gurjão gave an one day screen printing workshop at Planet 10 especially for the mimb team! For the occasion, Gurjão developed four different prints to our bags. Gurjao’s work is characterized by graphic elements that draw on Brazilian art and culture. He is currently an Artist in Residence of quartier21, and presented his label FKWALLYS at the Vienna Fashion Week. In the last three weeks, from July 19th until August 4th, Planet 10 was transformed into a unique workshop. Five women from different countries (Chechnya, Peru, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka and Hungary), all living in Vienna, gathered to create mimb’s first products. They all had basic sewing knowledge before.
